Measures are been taken to supply 24 hours water supply to the Nagpurians by December 2020, informed, Water Supply Committee Chairman Vijay (Pintu) Jhalake. A meeting of water supply committee was held at Dr Punjabrao Deshmukh Auditorium at Municipal Headquarters on Tuesday.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Bhagwan Mende, Nehru Nagar Zone President Samita Chakole, Lakdganj Zone President Rajkumar Sahu, Asinagar Zone Chairperson Virka Bhiwgade, Zone Committee Chairman Gargi Chopra on Tuesday, Sanjay Mahajan, Deepak Chaudhary, Jhalavar Akhdar, Bhuthar Jhodar, Bhotar Jhodar. Shweta Banerjee, Executive Engineer Manoj Ganvir, OCW CEO Sanjay Roy, Director HR and Nasamparka keemapi Singh, director Rajesh Karla was mainly present.
Chairman Pintu Jhalake reviewed the Amrit scheme. The work of the Amrit scheme is underway and it will be completed by August 2020, said Superintendent Engineer Shweta Banerjee.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman Jhalake expressed confidence that the city would be tanker free by December 2020. Shweta Banerjee informed that RO units will be installed on 50 wells in the city before summer begins.
To avoid the wastage and leakage from pipe lines an ultrasonic flow meter will soon be installed. Chairman Pintu Jhalke said that 7 flow meters would be installed on the 30 km pipeline.
