Nagpur Municipal Corporation has decided to make sports policy and invites suggestions from sports experts and senior coaches. The decision was taken at a sports committee meeting on behalf of the mayor.
A meeting was held on Tuesday at Nagpur Municipal Headquarters, Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Standing Committee Sabhagrah. Chairman of the committee and sports committee chairperson Pramod Chikhale, former president Nagesh Sahare, corporator Pramod Tavhane, Vijay Chutele, Deepak Wadibhasme, deputy commissioner Rajesh Mohite, sports officer Piyush Ambulkar, senior grade clerk Jitendra Gaikwad were present.
Various sports issues were discussed during the meeting. It was discussed that the sports policy will be formulated and it should be in the interest of the general players, and the nature of sports policy should be towards promoting the development of sports and players.
Pramod Chikhale, chairman of the committee, directed to send written notice to the sports associations, senior players and coaches in Nagpur.
Sports control officer Nitin Bhole, sports inspector Naresh Chowdhury and former sports officer Naresh Sawithool were present at the meeting.
