Taking into consideration the seriousness of the problems faced by the officials while acting against encroachment in the city, Police Commissioner Dr. Bhushan Kumar Upadhyay on Monday met Mayor Sandeep Joshi. Municipal Commissioner Abhijit Bangar, Deputy Commissioner of Traffic Police, Chinmay Pandey was also present in the meeting.
Considering the agony of the citizens due to the increasing encroachment on the city, stern measures are being taken by the officials. In the context of encroachment, a special meeting of the Municipal Corporation is also scheduled to be held on December 7. At this time, Mayor Sandeep Joshi expressed confidence that the municipal and police departments will work in coordination to free the city’s roads, sidewalks and free the encroachments.
Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) and Nagpur City Police are joining hands and have decided that all 12 metres roads would be freed from encroachers. A committee under chairmanship of senior corporator Dayashankar Tiwari held a meeting to firm-up plan for removal of encroachments as it has enveloped open spaces like a cancer.
Dr Bhushan Kumar Upadhyay said that the municipal corporation and police departments should take action together to remove the encroachment from the entire city.
A detailed discussion was taken on the joint action taken by the municipal and police departments, coordination between the two departments and the arrangements required for it.
