The Nuisance Detection Squad (NDS) of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has been distinctly active in keeping the Nagpur city clean and tidy. The NDS since the last week of November has collected a fine of more than 3, 00,200 in overall cleanliness nuisance by the citizens. The violations include spitting, spreading construction material, littering, putting up hoardings and banner in an unauthorized place and even setting up wedding marquee in between of a busy road and creating congestion in a smooth flow of traffic.
The NDS were strictly active in the areas like Laxmi Nagar, Dharampeth, Hanuman Nagar, Dhantoli, Nehru Nagar, Gandhibagh, Satranjipura, Lakadganj, Ashi Nagar and Mangawalri zones. In overall violations it was noticed that the illegal hoardings have been decreased but the cases of construction material which were put on roads by the builders and residents were seen the most of the city. Similarly, a huge amount of plastic was seized during the surprise inspections done by the NDS.
