Recently Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) was awarded with seven awards from the hands of Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu at the National Safety Awards (Mines) ceremony for the year 2015 and 2016 of the Directorate General of Mines Safety, Ministry of Labor and Employment, Government of India held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
WCL received seven awards in various categories of safety awards in the mining industries of India. Ballarpur 3&4 UG mine (02 awards) of Ballarpur Area, Tawa-1 UG Mine (02 awards) of Pathakheda Area, Niljai OC of Wani area, Umrer OC of Umrer Area, Mana incline UG mine of Chandrapur Area received awards for the year 2015 & 2016 in various categories.The award was received by Rajiv R. Mishra, CMD, WCL, Area General Managers and Mine Managers of the concerned area.
On this occasion, The Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Santosh Kumar Gangwar, Secretary (L&E), Heera Lal Samariya, Joint Secretary (L&E), Kalpana Rajsinghot, the Director General, DGMS, R. Subramanian, Director Technical (P&P) of WCL, Ajit Kumar Chowdhary, General Managers Uday Kaole, Alok Kumar, A.C. Singh, P.K. Choudhury, Tarun Kumar Shrivastava, A.K. Dixit, the members of the Tripartite Safety Committee (TSC) and the team of the safety department were prominently present. Chairman-cum-Managing Director Rajiv R. Mishra congratulated every member of Team WCL for their remarkable achievement. The National Safety Awards (Mines) are presented to the mining industries by the Government of India for recognizing the high level of safety achievements at the national level and improving safety standards in mines.
