Nagpur Municipal Corporation in an attempt to free city from the increasing traffic has begun the process of stop all private buses out of the city. The first meeting of this committee was held on Thursday at Dr Panabrao Deshmukh Auditorium in the Municipal Headquarters headed by Pravin Datke.
Praveen Datke directed that a letter will be sent to the Nagpur Metro Authority, Nagpur Metropolitan Authority, Nagpur Improvement Trust, National Highway Authority on Umred Road and Wardha road to provide parking space to the private passenger buses outside the city.NMC has adopted these measures to put a halt on the increase in traffic cause by private buses, MSRTC buses, school buses and city buses running in the city.
Earlier on December 7, Mayor Sandip Joshi in a special general body meeting of NMC had asked to stop buses outside the city.
Committee members Sunil Agrawal, Sandeep Gawai, Sanjay Burrewar, Additional Commissioner Ram Joshi, deputy Commissioner Rajesh Mohite, Assistant Commissioner Ashok Patil, Prakash Warade, Executive engineer traffic department Shakil Niyazi, Ravindra Page, Transport department Yogesh Lunge, and police officers were present in the meeting.
