The third edition of  ‘Khasdar Krida Mahotsav’, the brainchild of union minister Nitin Gadkari will begin on January 12 at different venues in the city.
Addressing media persons mayor Sandip Joshi said this year 32 events will be conducted in 13 days and total prize money will be Rs 78 lakh. The games that would be the part of third edition include football (Motibagh ground from Jan 13 to 20), kho-kho (NEHS ground Congress Nagar Jan 17 to 19) , tennisball cricket (various grounds from Jan 13 to 21), tennis (Ramnagar court from Jan 17 to 19), basketball (Bajaj Nagar and Shivaji Nagar from Jan 13 to 22) , carrom (Ravidas Sabhagruh, Hanuman Nagar from Jan 14 to 17), athletics (university ground from Jan 13 to 15), swimming (Kamgar Kalyan Mandal on Jan 19 and 20), volleyball (Reshimbagh from Jan 21 to 23), badminton (Jan 19 to 23 at Subhedar Hall), hockey (VHA ground from Jan 13 to 16), chess (Bhat Sabhagruh from Jan 17 to 19), kabaddi (Chitnis Park from Jan 13 to 17), table tennis (Shakti Club from Jan 20 t0 23), cycling (Deekshabhoomi square on Jan 12), girls box cricket (Bajaj Nagar ground from Jan 20 to 23) , wrestling (Lalganj from Jan 21 to 23), body building (Yeshwant Stadium on Jan 21) , divyang games (IDCPE on Jan 16 and 17)  archery (Jan 19 to 21 at Dharanpeth Science) , taekwon-do (Vivekanand Nagar from Jan 16 to 18) , boxing (Jan 14 and 15 at Patidar Bhavan) , shooting (NIT Building Mecosabagh from Jan 16 to 18) , fencing (Durga Nagar Jan 22 and 23), mallakhamb (Jan 20 at Gadikhana) , gymnastics (DNC from Jan 18 to 19) , blind girls cricket ( university ground on Jan 18 and 19), O-womania (Yashwant Stadium on Jan 19) , yog kriya (Bhat Sabhagruh on Jan 20 and 21), judo (IDCPE on Jan 20 and 21), softball (Tirpude College Jan 20 to 22) and sepaktakraw (Wankhede Mahavidyalaya from Jan 21 to 23).
Joshi said total 964 teams, about 3565 officials and over 38,000 participants are expected to take part in the third edition.
During the concluding ceremony to be held on January 24 as many as 426 trophies, 4350 medals with prize money of Rs 78 lakh will be distributed.
