The stray dogs menace has become a headache for the citizens and there were many cases reported in which many people were attacked by these stray dogs.
As per information, there are about 90 thousand stray dogs in the city out of which 10 thousands have been sterilised. And now the civic body would launch a concerted drive to sterilise 80 thousand dogs in a year.
And the NMC would launch the sterilisation drive from the April 2020 and a provision of 12crores would be made in the budget.
As per information, one sterilisation will cost rupees one thousand and social organizations would be invited from Nagpur and Maharashtra. And it is expecting that 200 sterilisations will be conduct in one day.
At present it costs Rs.800 per sterilisation but this amount is inadequate. Hence one thousand per sterilisation has been considered and provision would be made accordingly.
