Two movies had been recently released in the nearest theaters and both are giving tough competition to each one. ‘Tanhaji’ based on the life of Tanaji Malusare, a 17th-century Maratha military leader is a historic film, starring Ajay Devgan marking his 100th film in the Bollywood. Another film ‘Chhapaak’ is based on the life of an acid attack survivor Laxmi portrayed by Deepika Padukone.
Chhapaak title is derived on the sound of splash is directed by Meghna Gulzar starring Deepika Padukone, Vikrant Massey, Madhurjeet Sarghi, Ankit Bisht, Anand Tiwari, Vishal Dahiya.
Even after getting all the negative reviews on boycotting the movie after Deepika joined JNU students showing her support against the attack done by the mob on the students the movie received a good response.
Chhapaak is written by Meghna Gulzar and Atika Chohan and is based on the true event of Laxmi Agarwal who was the victim of an acid attack at the age of 15 in the year 2005. The movie showed the brutal reality of people and how they think of destroying others life with their act.
The movie revolves around Malti (Deepika Padukone) and how she refuses to sit quietly even after being attacked by some people and fought back against the crime and filed a PIL against the sale of acid in India and running an NGO to help other acid attack survivors to overcome their fear and stand against all in the society.
The dialogues in the movie will give you chill as it touches some harsh point of the society. Deepika, Vikrant’s strong acting and dialogues will make you feel for the character. Meghna successfully brought out the story of Malti and girls like Malti who had to suffer due to the gruesome act.
