In a horrific incident which took place at Nandori Chowk in Hinganghat today morning at around 7.15 am, a youth tried to kill a 24-year-old unmarried school teacher by setting her on fire after pouring petrol on her in front of the academic institution.
However, she was rescued by the people, and her condition is reported to be critical.
The victim was soon rushed in a critical stage to Nagpur and is now admitted at Orange City & Research Institute where the victim is being treated by the doctors.The hospital staff informed that 40% of the victim’s body is burnt and her air pipe is badly damaged beyond repair. She is suffering from Grade III Deep dermal burns covering scalp, Face, Right Upper Limb, left hand, Upper back, Full neck with approximation of 40% burns with inhalational injuries affecting respiratory system also. The teams of doctors have been appointed for round-the-clock supervision.
MIDC police have caught the accused and it is yet to know if there is any love angle to it. However, the victims’ parents have denied the involvement of love angle behind the incident.
Victims’ relatives informed that the accused and victim had a fight 4 months ago on some issue after which victim informed about it to her parents and since then there was no word about the boy. They also informed that the accused was married and had a four month old child.
“We want that the accused must also suffer the same as he did to our daughter so that no one should dare to do the same with any other girl†demand the parents of the victim.
