The implementation of five-day working week ordered by the Maharashtra Government for the State Government employees came into effect from Monday February 24 in Zilla Parishad (ZP) four days prior to the date decided by the government order.
Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sanjay Yadav decided to implement the order from Monday itself. Thus employees will have to reach office with an in-time of 9:45 am in the morning and will have to work till 6:15 pm in the evening from Monday to Friday, while the peons will have to work from 9:30 am to 6:30 pm.
At present, employees working for the Government of Maharashtra get second and fourth Saturdays off every month. This decision was mainly aimed at increasing the productivity and efficiency of the employees, and also to reduce absenteeism at the workplace.
