The fear has a wider spread than the virus itself as 5, COVID-19 suspected patients are known to have fled from the isolation ward of Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital (IGMC), on Friday night. Even after having tight police security, the patients left the ward and then hospital one by one by excusing themselves for using the washrooms.
According to senior authority of the hospital, the patients have a travel history and had approached the facility by themselves. Their test have been done of which the results will be obtained by today evening.
Luckily as per norms and keeping it safe for everyone, personal details of all the five patients had been taken at the time of check up. The patients have been traced and are being requested to be in home quarantine so that if tests turn out to be positive they don’t make it worse for other around them.
On the basis of anonymity one of the hospital staff told TLN, “the patients were just scared and didn’t have any symptoms of corona virus. However, their tests were done after which they were hoping to get the results in no time. These patients belonging to high class had expected a treatment just like the big shot hospitals of the city from a government managed hospital, because of which these patients started misbehaving with the staff.”
It is also being said that if the tests are obtained to be positive an FIR will also be lodge on these patients.
