Finally the civic body has commenced taking action against those illegal top restaurants thriving in city; Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has started pulling down illegal structures giving a nightmare to the hoteliers. After the direction of the NMC commissioner Tukaram Mundhe, action started against the rooftop restaurants
The first action was initiated on Friday at Aangan Gajali where a roof top restaurant was functioning on its third floor. The restaurant is located at Hingna T-point, Takli SIM area. NMC enforcement squad reached the site and demolished the temporary structure constructed illegally by the owners. The hotel is owned by Prasanna Darvhekar and it was functioning forl ast few years in violation of norms. Municipal Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe, taking cognisance of reports in local newspapers, directed the civic administration to start action against roof top constructions built in violation of building bye-laws by restaurateurs.
Mundhe asked all Assistant Commissioners to get in touch with Chief Fire Officer (CFO) and get the list of buildings to which Fire and Emergency Services had issued notices inpastorderingclosure of rooftoprestaurants functioning at their respective establishments. Despite notices from civic body, hotels owners continued turning a blind eye to prevailing dangers.
