Justice Bhushan Dharmadhikari, who hails from Nagpur, has been appointed as the Chief Justice (CJ) of Bombay High Court. And for the first time, the Chief Justice of India (CJI) Justice Sharad Arvind Bobde and Chief Justice of Bombay High Court Bhushan Dharmadhikari both are from Nagpur. As per information, the notification of Justice Dharmadhikari’s appointment was issued on Wednesday.
This is a very unique and glorious coincidence for the city. Justice Dharmadhikari was appointed Chief Justice in-charge of Bombay High Court after the retirement of Justice The meeting of SC collegium was held on February 24 in which Justice Dharmadhikari’s name was recommended to the union government, which was approved by the government. Justice Dharmadhikari will be the Chief Justice of Bombay High Court till April 27.
Born on April 28, 1958, Justice Dharmadhikari was appointed additional judge of Bombay High Court on March 15, 2004.Two years later, on March 12,2006, he was appointed on the post of HC judge. Justice Dharmadhikari started his practice in October 1980 after completing his degree in law from Nagpur Law College.
