The lockdown due to the rapid spread of coronavirus has created hurdles and hardships for thousands of labours and migrants and they left with no choice. It has become very difficult for the administration to give proper shelter for them. Amid this challenging situation, a notable Institute of Education of Nagpur has expressed their willingness to provide shelter for these deprived people. The Tuli College of Hotel Management, Bokhara Road, Near Koradi Naka, and Nagpur has changed its college into a shelter camp for them.
Mohabat Singh Tuli – Chairman, and Urvashi Yashroy – Director opened their gates of college for this Nobel cause.
Urvashi Yashroy informed that initially the camp was initially set up for the ladies but as they were with their families we made sure that all get the necessary facilities and be taken care in this difficult time. They are giving them mask, food, basic amenities.
This initiative is taken by NMC with help of Team WE7 (Women Empowerment 7), under guidance of NMC Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe.Besides this, a medical team will do check-up of people coming in the camp to take shelter. Team WE7 is preparing a good hygienic shelter for all these ladies. Also arranging basic requirements have been done for the people.In an attempt to save the country from going into third stage of corona virus spread Central Government was left with no option but to sealed all the states and city borders on Sunday which also affected thousands of homeless labours.
