As we know the Nagpur city is infamous for the stray dogs menace and the administration had taken different measures to curb the problem time to time. However, the present condition has aggravated the issue as the whole city has under lockdown to contain the spread of novel coronavirus. Amid this situation, the stray dogs are not getting enough food as all the restaurants, hotels; hand carts in the city have stopped their business after the lockdown.
This move of the government has turned the city into a silent zone and the stray dogs are really got annoyed of it.They have become more aggressive and these thousands of dogs in the city now deprived of their food. As people are avoiding cooking extra food as precautionary measure and these dogs are not getting any leftovers. Similarly, the NGOs and individuals who provide food for the stray dogs are not able to come out and distribute food for them.
Meanwhile the situation has become worse as these stray dogs they come out in night started attacking people. There is a change in their behaviour. In this juncture, it is evident that the possibility of dog bite incidents may increase in city. In other words we can say that the empty stomach and lockdown turned the condition of the dogs more vulnerable.
