In a view to provide all the help and amenities to the people affected by the lockdown imposed around the country due to COVID-19 Nagpur Municipal Corporation has requested Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University NSS cell to start a Community Kitchen at Lower Boys Hostel of the University.
NMC requested the NSS cell to prepare food packets which was later distributed to the COVID 19 affected people who were either in the shelters created by the NMC or demanding for food if no other source is available.
Under the leadership of Dr Keshav Walke, Director NSS and his team of volunteers prepared the first batch started with 200 packets. Dr Murlidhar Chandekar, in-charge Vice Chancellor and Dr Khaty motivated the NSS team for doing the work.
