At present the nation is facing a huge challenge in the form of novel coronavirus pandemic and the government has declared a nationwide lockdown to contain the virus. In fact the effect of lockdown can be seen in every sphere of life.
Due to the lockdown, Maharajbagh Zoo has been shut for public since last 15 days. And absence of human presence in the true sense attracted some other guests; yes some beautiful peacocks from outside of the zoo are now roaming in the zoo freely. They found taking stroll near enclosures of peacocks and deer caged inside Maharajbagh Zoo. As per the information, there are only two male peacocks in the zoo. But now 8-10 peacocks in the backside of the zoo they roam around the zoo premises for few hours and go back to their native place.
After the tiger at New York zoo tested positive for coronavirus, the zoo, rescue and treatment centres across the nation have started taking the required precautionary measures. And the Maharajbagh Zoo premise is being sanitised along with the cages of animals to protect them from the virus.
