As we know the positive novel coronavirus cases are increasing in the city day by day and the civic authority has planned a set up a 150-bedded isolation ward facility to treat patients suffering from coronavirus at its Indira Gandhi Rugnalya at Gandhi Nagar. NMC has already commenced the preparations in this regard.
Dr Parineeta Fuke, the Bharatiya Janata Party corporator of Prabhag 13 under whose area Indira Gandhi Rugnalaya falls, opposed the move.  Dr Fuke pointed out, “Indira Gandhi Rugnalaya is surrounded by Corporation Colony, Shivaji Nagar, Abhyankar Nagar, Gandhi Nagar, Verma Layout, and Shankar Nagar.
All these areas are in green zone and because of vigilant citizens the coronavirus has not entered into these areas yet. But a plan to develop hospital in this area may put people of these areas at risk of getting infected by this dreaded virus. Dr Fuke alleged this move of the civic administration has been created a panic situation among the people of above localities. The way the residents of Dhantoli knocked the doors of court, it may happen in case of Indira Gandhi Rugnalaya too, said Dr Parineeta Fuke. She urged Municipal Commissioner to take serious note of this issue.
