Since government allowed to reopen liquor shops in the country there was a rapid growth in the economy of the country. But this also had a negative impact on the methods to control the widespread of the deadly virus as people were seen not following the norms of social distancing.
The Maharashtra government on Tuesday issued guidelines to allow home delivery of alcohol, according to the guidelines issued Wine shops can home deliver alcohol to those who have alcohol permits.
The shop will have to designate a person for delivery of alcohol, this employee would have a health check up to ensure he is not a carrier of Covid 19. The person will then receive an identity card from the excise department. Excise department officials have said that only those carrying these identity cards would be allowed to make home delivery.
This however would not be applicable for those living in Mumbai and Pune Mumbai Metropolitan region, Aurangabad and Nagpur as the excise department has clarified that this order will be applicable for only those districts where the local civic body has allowed wine shops to remain open.
Earlier even though central government gave a nod to reopen liquor shops local body Nagpur Municipal Corporation decided to shut all the shops and follow the lockdown strictly.
