Maharashtra cabinet minister and former chief minister Ashok Chavan has tested positive for coronavirus in Mumbai.
As per information, Chavan is currently admitted at a hospital in Nanded. His condition is stable.He was reportedly under home quarantine for the last few days.
He is the second minister in the Uddhav Thackeray government to catch the infection after Housing Minister Jitendra Awhad. Awhad, after recovering from the illness earlier this month, had recently come out in public about how serious his condition was.
Meanwhile, the number of Covid-19 cases in Maharashtra crossed the 50,000-mark on Sunday on account of 3,041 new detections, the highest in the single day.
