Veteran filmmaker-screenwriter Basu Chatterjee, the director behind cult films like ‘Rajnigandha’ and ‘Chitchor’, passed away on Thursday due to age-related ailments. He was 93 and died in his sleep at his Santacruz residence.
The filmmaker is best known for directing films like Choti Si Baat, Rajnigandha, Baaton Baaton Mein, Ek Ruka Hua Faisla, and Chameli Ki Shaadi among more.
The veteran film-maker’s last rites will be performed later this afternoon at the Santacruz crematorium.
