A sigh of relief for the MOIL officers as the Nagpur Bench of the Bombay High Court has granted interim relief on the controversial order to recover additional salaries given to MOIL officers as an incentive. The court has asked central government, MOIL to file a reply within three weeks. As per information, the MOIL executive association has filed a petition against the disputed order. The chairman and joint managing director of MOIL has special powers to pay incentives to encourage best performing officers.
Under this, incentive were sanctioned to some eligible officers in 2008, 2012 and 2016.Meanwhile the Union government objected to it and sought an explanation from MOIL.However, the Central government on May 12 sent a letter to MOIL directing them recover the incentivised salary paid to the officers concerned.Accordingly, MOIL issued a recovery order on June 2.The petitioners have objected to the decision and claimed that the action to be illegal.
