India Pedals – Citizens initiative to make Nagpur a Cycling City conducted a Traffic Free ride in Nagpur today with the support of Nagpur Traffic Police. All the social distancing norms were followed. There was no flag off and no gathering. More than 100 people came to ride cycles on traffic-free roads provided by Nagpur Traffic Police. The route of the ride was Ladies club square, GPO Square, Tirpude College, Income Tax office, Japanese garden, and then again ladies club square.Â
All these people were given messages to use cycles in their daily life. The main objective of India Pedals is to promote cycling as a way of life and make people use cycles to go to office and markets. Cycling has to become an integral part of our city transport. India Pedals will be conducting these rides every Sunday and also in different parts of the city.
India Pedals will soon start initiatives like cycle to the office for both government and private companies. Cycling has become one of the best means of social distancing in this corona epidemic.
