Following a healthy routine every morning helps you to get a head start to the day. It is also equally important to consume a nutritious breakfast as it will fuels you with energy to kick start your morning.
Listed below are the 4 things actress, Soha Ali Khan diligently follows every day as a part of her morning routine:
- Drink water
I usually begin the day with a glass of water. Alternatively, you could also drink lukewarm water with a few drops of lemon. I usually drink about a litre of water by mid-morning, and continue to drink water though the rest of the day as well.
- Snack on high-proteins
Next, I start thinking about getting some exercise but before that, I need my dose of energy. Also, I mostly wake up feeling hungry so I try to snack on something healthy to pack in the right nutrients. My go-to option is to eat a handful of almonds. Almonds are fuss-free and make for a good pre-workout snack, owing to their nutrient-rich composition. Almonds are also a rich source of protein, which is not only energy-yielding but also known to contribute to the growth and maintenance of muscle mass.
Finally, Almonds are known to have satiating properties that may promote feelings of fullness, which makes sure I don’t binge on other unhealthy snacks.
- Be mindful and exercise
I think it is important to have a mindful and active morning, as it sets the tone for the day. To ensure this I practice Yoga and pranayama in the morning. I usually choose a calm place in my home and start with pranayama for about 5 – 10 min; this helps to streamline my thoughts and center my focus. Yoga is my way of staying healthy and fit. To complement my yoga routine, I usually snack on Sattvic foods like almonds, as they are a great companion for managing weight.
- Plan your meals
Most often than not we tend to opt for unhealthy meal or snacking options because they seem easy. Over time, this contributes to health problems. To avoid this, I plan my meals, so that I make healthy meal choices. I exclude any deep-fried snacks/ sweets from my meal plan. Instead, I add seasonal fruits, veggies and all-time favourite nuts and dry fruits like almonds to my meals or mid meal snacks to make them healthier.
