The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has issued a new guideline for COVID care, under which the asymptomatic negative close contacts of coronavirus positive persons in Nagpur will be allowed to be home quarantined now.
According to the new guideline, asymptomatic patients will have to remain in quarantine at home for 10 days.
Although a person with serious health issues and who are above 60 yrs of age will not be allowed to be home quarantined.
Also, a person who has mild systems will be kept at COVID health centres and those with severe symptoms will be treated at COVID dedicated hospital.
The new rule would come in to effect from Sunday as the cases are on the rise and the capacity of COVID-19 dedicated hospitals is filling up fast. Earlier all the close contacts who came in contact with the person who was tested positive for COVID-19) were admitted in institution quarantine centres even though these contacts were tested negative and whether they were asymptomatic or not.
