Chandrapur: The forest officials of buffer zone of Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve (TATR) from Mul Forest Range arrested ten accused in connection with poaching a sambar and distributing its meat in village Fulzari. As per the information the four prime accused used some trained dogs to hunt the sambar. Some meat and equipments used for chopping the meat was seized and sent to lab for testing.
Sources from the Forest Department say that the four accused had reportedly used some trained domestic dogs to hunt the sambar. After killing the sambar, the accused brought the animal and killed it. They distributed its meat to the other person in Fulzari village.
Acting on a tip-off about the incident, the forest officials raided the village and arrested total 10 accused in this connection. The accused has been identified as Devidas Soyam, Jaipal Sidam, Roshan Sidam, Shubham Atram, Avinash Madavi and other five accused.
The forest officials have registered offence under relevant section of Forest Act in this connection, informed Prasad. He further claimed that Further investigations are on.
