Gondia: The Gondia civic administration has shifted the local retail vegetable market at three different places Indira Gandhi stadium and another at Seth pratap high school, near Gandhi square. The vegetable vendors at the Indira Gandhi stadium are shifted back to the old vegetable market. While the vegetable market at the stadium as well the market in subhash school ground continues to operate in the same manner.
However, despite the scare of infection, people at both the places are seen violating the basic guidelines by the health department.
The untidiness, garbage of the waste vegetables etc, is posing a severe health hazard for the people. Importantly both the places are located in dense residential areas and the uncleaned premises are directly posing health threat for the residents there.
The daily hike in number of coronavirus cases is a matter of concern and in such scenario the crowded market places have added to the woes.
Now the residents have demanded to shift the vegetable market to stadium which is much bigger and spacious and people can maintain social distancing. It’s gathered that waste garbage at Subhash school ground is not cleared from past several days and the bad odour has created a huge problem for the resident.
