The union government has taken up an initiative titled ‘India Cycle and Change Challenge’ to encourage cycling for environment protection. A special 17 km long lane for cycling is being prepared in Nagpur. Nagpur Smart and Sustainable City Development Corporation Limited have taken initiative for this purpose. This special cycling lane will be created in West Nagpur. The senior members of Contractor Association and Jitu Goplani announced to give 10 bicycles through their CSR for this programme.
Mahesh Moroney,president of NMC Contractor Welfare Association said that Smart City is making Nagpur city safe and healthy.People are participating on large scale in this work.The objective of Smart City is to prepare plan keeping people at centre.It is an important work to encouage cycling through Smart City.Cycling will bring down pollution and make people healthy.The 17 km long cycling lane will be from Law College to Bhole Petrol Pump,VIP Road,Alankar Square,Annabhau Sathe Square,NEERI Square,Maharajbagh Square,AIR Square,VCA Square,Japanese Garden Square,Seminary Hills,Vayusena Nagar,Hanuman Tekdi Road,Walkers Street,Ladies Club Square and Law College Square.
