The engineering students in city are really facing trouble as the social welfare department declined the free-ship forms and asked the students to pay their three-year fees at a time. Besides this, the colleges have said that if they do not pay the fees, they will not let them appear for the examination and TC will also not be given. After this, the irked students demonstrated in front of social welfare department office on Wednesday.
As per information, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, OBCs, Bhatke deprived students were given admission. Later these students applied online to take advantage of the free-ship scheme. He was expected to get the benefit of the government scheme. But this has not happened. Now the students are in the final year. The colleges have sent a mail to them saying that free-ship reimbursement is required. Now the students are forced to pay Rs 4.1 lakh by the colleges. The agitation was led by Republican Party and the memorandum given by the students states that they were admitted by the cap round in the 2016-17 session.
