Nagpur Obstetrics and Gynaecological Society (NOGS) has been introducing many social projects relevant to current times. It has been observed that many pregnant women are testing positive for novel coronavirus and are therefore home quarantined. These pregnant patients, who are not due for delivery, are unable to seek medical help in time and there are many who need medical consultation for a variety of reasons. Women from cities as well as neighboring towns and villages are facing a lot of trouble in the present situation. It is for such women from remote areas, villages that NOGS has come up with a huge helping hand.
Pregnant women, who have been tested positive and are not due for delivery, can access this free service. It’s a social initiative under which Consultant Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of our society will provide free telephonic counselling to the needy and socio economically weak COVID19 positive women who are unable to access quality healthcare near their homes. Qualified obstetricians will be available six days a week as per the slots mentioned for the needy women which is a massive step in improving the accessibility of health care in these difficult times. President of the society Dr Vaidehi Marathe, who pioneered this unique social concept, has thanked her team and society members for the active support to the noble project.
