South Central Zone Cultural Center, Nagpur has organized an online “Stree Mahotsav†on the occasion of holy festival of Navratri. The programme will begin at 5pm from October 21 to 23.
The performances will include singing, playing and dancing by female artists. The female artists belong to Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
On October 21, “Flute show” will be performed by Dr Jayaprada Ramamurthy and team from Telangana followed by ‘Godha kalyanam’ a dance dance drama by kala ratna of Andhra Pradesh. V. Satyanarayana.
On October 22, “Chitraveena†will be presented by Imani Lalitakrishna and team from Telangana. This presentation will be accompanied by violin, mridangam, flute, ghatam etc. After this, the folk singer of Chhattisgarh Rajni Razak and the team will give a presentation of “Lok Gatha-Dholamaru”.
On October 23 “Panchnad” will be performed by five female artists from Madhya Pradesh. The artists include Shruti Adhikari (Santoor), Smita Bajpai (Sitar), Sangeeta Agnihotri (Tabla), Chetali Sheolikar (Violin) and Rachna Sharma (Harmonium) who will co-perform in this presentation. This will be followed by the presentation of “Shakti – Different Faces of Women†by Swati Somnath and Dal of Telangana.
