Nagpur police claimed to have busted a major investment scam and have arrested 11 persons for allegedly duping over 25,000 investors from different states to the tune of Rs 100 crore. The masterminds of the racket have been identified as Vijay Ramdas Gurnule (35) and Devendra Bhimrao Gajbhiye (34). They have been arrested along with their nine accomplices.
They had promised investors Rs 730 per month as a commission for adding members. The scamster duped over 25,000 people not only in State but in Chhattisgarh, MP, and other states.
After duping investors the fraudsters hid cash at different locations. One such place was Amravati where Rs 48 lakh was recovered from the accused Gurnule’s relative. The police have so far recovered 1.03 crore cash.
All the bank accounts of Gurnule have been seized and police have ordered to freeze the bank accounts related to Gurnule and his company. Police are also taking the help of software experts to unearth transactions done through net banking.
