The other capital of Maharashtra, Nagpur, witnessed the inauguration of the 2nd edition of Orange City Literature Festival (OCLF). Â It was inaugurated by Chief Guest Shri. Nitinji Gadkari, Union Cabinet Minister, Road, Transport & Highways & Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, GOI in presence of Shri. Sunil Raisoni, Chairman, Raisoni Group;Dr.Rajan Welukar, Former Mumbai University VC, Dr. Mrunal Naik OCLF Project Head& Dr.Tuhin Sinha . Due to current pandemic of COVID 19 the festival was organized online.
Mr. Sunilji Raisoni, Chairman, Raisoni Group, welcome the guest and briefed about the occasion. He said “The journey started in 2019 with its 1st edition from 4th December to 6th December with more than 70 eminent speakers and 6540 attendees. The milestone achieved was a shared success in the most creative way.â€
Dr. Rajan Welurkar, Former Vice-Chancellor of Mumbai University, while introducing the event said “Literature is the blood of society. The nations are built with the force of literature. It create thinkers who give direction to those who are on the wrong way.“
Shri Nitinji Gadkari, Cabinet Minister, in his address said “I congratulate the organizer for organizing such a knowledge full event. I believe in philosophy that Knowledge and wealth are interdependent and nothing is waste if you used it properly. Materialistdevelopment is ok but importance of History, culture and heritage are more important.Indonesia, Cambodia are still nurturing there heritage because it’s important to them. Values based education is need of on hour. That would help us to understand our origin. It’s time we create truly New India with our distinguished literature.“
Mr. Gadkari launched Marathi translated book of Author and political commentator Tuhin Sinha named “Mi Kashmir Ahe†on this occasion.
Renowned Motivational Speaker Shiv Khera formally initiate 1st session with topic “Opening Talk “Turn Setbacks into Comebacks”. Here he said “Discipline is important. Relationship important but if you ignore you have to talk to lawyers. Time to re–evaluateyour priority. People are realizing that direction is important than speed.â€
In 2nd and last session of day, the interview of Sonal Mansingh was conducted on “Breaking Boundaries – Dance, Culture and Society”. She shared her life experiences.
In next two days i.e. 28th and 29th November 2020, OCLF-2020 will host many session with prominent author, writers, story tellers, environmentalist, administrative officers and others. Known faces like Prabhu chavala, Salman Khurshid, Sonal Mansing, Chef Majinder Singh Gill, Aditya Bal, Sanjay Baru, Nandita Puri, Shantanu Gupta, Ali Mehdi, Karnal Singh, Madhavi Menon, Mickey Mehta and many others will be on panel.
