A Walking Audit’ was conducted by Nagpur Smart and Sustainable City Development Corporation Limited (NSSCDCL) at various markets and streets of the city.
The audit was conducted under the Street for People Challenge’ organised by the Union government’s Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, ITDP, Smart Cities Mission, Swachh Bharat and Fit India Movement.
“The Street for People Challenge” is a great opportunity for architects, urban planning and other field students and businessmen. Through this, through their own design and concept, they can make roads convenient for citizens. The purpose of the initiative is to provide safe passage for pedestrians.
The audit panel was headed by Dr Pranita Umredkar, general manager and done under the guidance of Environment Department, chief executive officer Bhuvaneshwari S.
Street for People Challenge Competition IDTP held online through 50 teams of experts from various fields participated in this event.
Students from the College of Architects, Urban Planning and Architecture participated in the competition. In the walking audit, the roads of Sitabuldi and Mahal were selected for the flagship.
