While briefing media after the first general body meeting of the NMC after the election, Mayor Dayashankar Tiwari said that there will be no water crises, as the city will have regular water supply from today itself.
Tiwari added that the water leakages issue were solved in 12 days, due to which wastage 64 Mld water has been saved. It will be beneficial for the city in the long run. Tiwari added that Rs 131 crore development fund which was unused and was laying ideal in the bank, will now be used for the proposed work. “It is interesting that the allocated fund was laying in the bank and not used by the administration. Though NMC has earned an interest of Rs 5 crore, but it would have been more better if the fund would have been used for the purpose for which it was allotted,†Tiwari said.
The Mayor expressing satisfaction over the first online meeting of his regime was successful without many interruptions. All pending work will be carried out on a priority basis. The pending 199 projects will start within 10 days. Three people committee comprising of Additional Commissioner, Chief Engineer, and Finance officer will expedite the work of delayed projects.
