ASI Mishra, Dharmaraj Nakod from city to be awarded President’s medal on the occasion of Republic Day

ASI Sub-Inspector (ASI) Shardaprasad Ramakant Mishra and Assistant fire station officer (retd) Dharmaraj Nakod from the city would be conferred with President’s medal on the occasion of Republic Day on Tuesday. Shardaprasad Ramakant Mishra attached to Ambazari Police Station has been selected for Police Medal for Meritorious Service and Fire Service Medal for Me r i t o r i o u s Service was declared to D h a r m a r a j Nakod, retired A s s i s t a n t Station Officer with Fire and Emergency S e r v i c e s Department of city. Mishra joined City police in 1988 as Constable and rose to the post of ASI. During his tenure of 32 years, Mishra was posted at Koradi, Tehsil, MIDC and Sitabuldi police stations, Police Headquarters and Special Branch. He received a total of 290 rewards so far and DG insignia in 2018. While working in various police stations, Mishra has played an important role in detection and investigation of crimes. During his posting at Special Branch, Mishra has provided his services extremely diligently for helping administration in conducting the peaceful elections.

Dharmaraj Narayanrao Nakod joined Nagpur Fire Service as a Fireman on June 7, 1984. Nakod retired from service on November 30, 2020.He was promoted to the post of Leading Fireman on November 16, 2011. In 2017, he became Sub-Officer. In 2019, he was promoted as Assistant Station Officer and held additional charge as Station Officer of Narendra Nagar Fire Station. He did MA in Political Science and Public Administration, and Diploma in Local Self Government from Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University. Nakod did Station Officer and Instructor’s Course from National Fire Service College and also completed 10 training programmmes from National Civil Defence College. He earned Gold Medal in 41st Advance Rescue Course in 2003. He conducted several fire safety awareness programmes including mock drills, lectures, and live fire demonstration during his service tenure. He imparted training to newly recruited fire personnel. He worked as Building Inspection Officer too. Deployed at Ahmedabad (Gujarat) during major earthquake in 2001, Nakod actively participated in search and rescue operation on behalf of Nagpur Municipal Corporation. The awards were declared on the eve of Republic Day.
