According to the orders of Municipal Commissioner Traffic from Deekshabhoomi Chowk to North Ambazhari Marg, Azad Chowk to Laakdi Pool and Zenda Chowk to Sakkardara Chowk is prohibited. Nagpur Municipal Corporation have given orders to restrict traffic on three routes, first from Deekshabhoomi Chowk to North Ambazhari Marg, second Azad Chowk to Lakdi Pool and third Zenda Chowk to Sakkardara Chowk under Cement Concrete Road Project Phase-3. Cement Concrete Road Project Phase-3 Package No. 9 Road No. 35 will be constructed by Nagpur Municipal Corporation from Deekshabhoomi Chowk to North Ambazhari Marg.
Due to this work, the traffic on the right side of this route will be closed from February 10 to April 30. The Municipal Commissioner has ordered to divert the traffic on this road from the left side and the adjacent road. Apart from this, under Cement Concrete Roads Project Phase-3, out of 10 packages, Package No. 2, Road No. 3, Azad Chowk to Laakdi Pool and Zenda Chowk to Sakkarada Chowk, Old Friday, cement road work is proposed.
Traffic on these routes will be restricted for this purpose. Accordingly, from February 10 to March 31, the right side road from Azad Chowk to Lakdi Pul and Zenda Chowk to Bhola Ganesh Chowk will be closed to any traffic. Traffic on this route will be diverted to the left and adjacent roads.
Municipal Commissioner Radhakrishnan B, in his order also stated that, while completing the work on all the above routes, the concerned contractor and executive engineer of the work must take safety precautions. Accordingly, notice boards should be erected at the place of work, date of commencement and completion of the work, as well as the name and contact number of the contractor, barricades at both ends of the alternative route, should be posted and traffic safety guards should be posted at the alternative route. Laying of boards, making arrangements so that the soil removed from the ground does not come on the road. It will be mandatory to install LED diversion boards at night for the information of drivers, to follow the traffic rules and guidelines given by the traffic police said Municipal Commissioner.
