Supreme Court of India favoured school and college in a judgment against cut down of fees during the lockdown period. The appeal was made by Rajasthan Bhavan School Society, Sawai Mansing School Management and other organizations. The apex court in its judgment said that parents will have to pay the full fees, for the lockdown period.
It also added that the school fees should be according to that of 2019 academic year. School authorities cannot take increased fees. Even those students and specially of standard 10 and 12 should not be stopped from writing their exams, for not paying fees.
Any student should not be stopped from on-line, off-line classes for not paying fees. It also directed that parents can pay the fees in six weeks. The court has also suggested that for those who have lost their jobs, our closed their business due to the pandemic can approach the school and figure out some other way.
Parents associations all over the country had staged demonstrations, for rebate in fees. In many cities parents came out and met several concern authorities, the decision of Supreme Court has disheartened the parents, but at the same time school management got big relief from the court judgement. Reactions of parents and parents association is awaited.
