Decreasing number of students in some of the Zilla Parishad (ZP) schools are causing great concern and these schools are on the verge of closure. As per information, sixteen schools were closed in 2018 while 13 schools will be closed in 2021-22.The state government has decided to close schools with less than 20 students or adjust the schools in the nearest school.
The Nagpur Zilla Parishad has commenced the process to close 13 schools from this session. As per the education department, after closing these schools, the students and teachers will be adjusted in the nearest school. The ZP has 1535 schools in the district.Earlier,there were 1551 schools but in 2018,16 schools were shut down and the students and teachers were adjusted in nearest school.Again,the school with less number of students will be closed and in the two schools in one km area, one school will be closed.
