Uncertainty prevails about the conduct of summer examinations of 2021. Prof Prafulla Sable, Director of Examinations and Evaluation of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, however, stated that efforts are being made to conduct examinations of final year students. The examinations will be completed by the end of May this year.
Following COVID 19 pandemic all the universities and schools faced problems in conducting examinations and declaring results in time. Winter examinations of 2020 have not been completed as yet.
RTMNU authorities have declared dates of practical examinations, which are conducted by respective colleges. The theory examinations are still in the doldrums. The on-line examinations are being opposed by a section of students, while many others are in support of the same. Fear of the further spread of the pandemic is high in everyone’s mind.
The results of on-line examinations conducted for the last session yielded results that were shocking. The examination was mainly the objective type with multiple-choice questions. A large number of students secured 100 percent marks, which is unlikely in any examination.
With the Corona Virus infection spreading again, the conduct of examinations is in doldrums. Conducting off-line examinations, by maintaining social distancing and other preventive measures, is very difficult for the colleges. The students who were accommodated in hostels will face problems, unless the hostels are opened.
