The count of coronavirus daily cases is rising each day putting the administration in distress. Nagpur district witnessed the biggest jump in positive cases on the second consecutive day on Thursday with 1,979 fresh cases.
The continuous hike has raised major concerns regarding the careless behaviour of the citizens despite strict restrictions and lockdown. Taking stern action against the current scenario, the Nagpur district administration has announced strict lockdown from March 15 till 21.
After today’s count, the total number of positive cases has reached 16,403,2. In the day 10 people succumbed to the virus-borne disease taking the tally of deaths to 4,425.
As per the official report, out of the total positive cases, 373 were from rural areas and 1603 cases from Nagpur city alone.
Meanwhile, from the total deaths, 6 cases were reported from Nagpur city and 1 from rural area while 3 were registered from outside of the city.
After the fresh updates, the total active cases in the city now stands at 13188 including asymptomatic cases advised for home isolation.
With 947 recoveries in the day, the cumulative number of recovered cases rose to 146419 (including 76332 home isolation recoveries). The recovery rate recorded today was 89.26 percent.
Today’s 1979 positive cases were reported from various hospitals.
