An offence has been lodged against Aam Aadmi Party activist for connecting power supply illegally after electricity supply of defaulter consumer was disconnected by Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited. As per information, Electricity consumer Mohammad Ibrahim Mohammad Yakub residing in Gaddigodam area had dues of Rs.129970. Despite regular follow up by MSEDCL the Mohammad Yakub was not responded and after that disconnected the electricity supply of defaulter on March 25.
The MSEDCL also seized electricity meter of consumer and service wire.Later,activists of Aam Aadmi Party Ravikant Wagh,Kavita Singhal,Prabhat Agrawal and Alka Popatkar restored electricity supply of defaulter consumer illegally. After this the MSEDCL lodged a complaint at Sadar Police Station in this regard. On the basis of this complaint, police have lodged an offence against activists of Aam Aadmi Party Ravikant Wagh,Kavita Singhal,Prabhat Agrawal and Alka Popatkar under sections 135 and 138 of the Indian Electricity act and sections 186 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code.Similarly,another offence was filed under section 138 of the Indian Electricity Act against electricity consumer Rajesh Tiwari,Piyush Akre,Manoj Dafre,Sanjay Jivtod,Amol Mule,Sanjay Anasne,Shubham Parle,Vikas Nagrale and Anmol Girde for illegally restoring disconnected electricity supply in Jawahar Nagar.
