Veteran shooter Chandro Tomar who was popularly known as ‘Shooter Dadi’, died due COVID-19 today. She was 89 year old.
Chandro Tomar was admitted to a hospital in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut earlier this week.
Chandro was 60-plus when she picked up the gun for the first time but went on to win many national competitions, even inspiring a Bollywood movie on her.
Chandro took part in several competitions along with her sister Prakashi Tomar, thus becoming one of the oldest female sharp shooters in the world.
