It is really a proud moment as 23 police personnel from Nagpur city police, seven from State Reserve Police Force’s (SRPF) Group IV andVII, six from Nagpur rural police, four from Special Action Group (SAG) and a cop from Anti-Corruption Bureau, Nagpur, have been selected for prestigious Director General’s (DG) insignia for their outstanding performance and 15 years of excellent service to the State. The cops are at the forefront for enforcing lockdown and saving lives of people. More than 33,000 police personnel in the state police force contracted to the infection of COVID-19 and around 350 police personnel lost their lives in a year. On the eve of Maharashtra Day, the DG’s insignia was announced by State DGP Sanjay Pandey. As per the list, Sr Police Inspector of Pardi Police Station Sunil Gangurde was selected for his 15 years of excellent service. PSI Vaibhav Barange was selected for the insignia for his action against robbers and dacoits. The list also includes names of PSI Abdul Bapumia Sheikh, ASI Suresh MurlidharWankhede, ASI Raju Pralhad Potdar, ASIVijay Tryambak Nemade, ASI Ashok Tukaram Bhoyar, ASI Gajanan Krishnarao Tandulkar, ASI Vijay Krishnarao Kanakdande, ASI Shatrughna Shravan Kadu, ASI Raju Rambhau Bhoyar, ASI Vasanta Shankar Choure, HC Divyadev Uadaybhan Mishra, HC Nandu Krishnarao Shastrakar, HC Ganesh Wamanrao Kalse, HC Mangesh Namdeorao Karde, HC Gajanan Baliram More, HC Harendra Arjun Ganvir, NPC Dinesh Jagpal Yadav, NPC Harshadeep Baijnath Khobragade, NPC Bharat Udaysingh Thakur, WNPC Varsha Manohar Kshirsagar. WPC Jitu Namdeo Choudhary of Nagpur city police was selected for the award for exellent performance in national-level sports games. Nagpur Rural: Six personnel of Nagpur Rural police also selected for the insignia.
ASI Gabhilal Nathhulal Shendre, ASI Raju Sadashiv Mate, HC Vilas Bhagwan Wat, HC Avinash Satyapal Raut, HC Ramesh Madhorao Bhoyar and HC Vijay Sampatrao Dongre, Nagpur Rural are selected for the award. SRPF: The SRPF personnel are involved in the anti-naxal operations and additional bandobast duties. A total of seven personnel of SRPF including Commandant Pankaj Diliprao Dahane of SRPF Group IV have been selected for the DG’s insignia. Other personnel are – PSI Raju Nagnath Khedkar of Group VII, ASI Lankesh Nanaji Joshi of Group IV, HC Naresh Wadguji Sakharkar of Group IV, HC Suryakant Prabhuji Durgakar of Group IV, HC Kishan Namdeo Deokate of Group IV and HC Avinash Vasantrao Chopkar of Group IV. Special Action Group: NPCs Ajayya Shankarayya Sutrapawar, Deepak Jardhan Kirage, Mukesh Sukhiya Tandekar and Vivek Manku Narote of Special Action Group, Nagpur, have been selected for DG’s insignia for their action. The SAG is special tasked for anti-naxal operations. ACB: HC Gajanan Uttamrao Gadge of ACB Nagpur has been selected for DG’s insignia for his 15 years of excellent service.
