In the emergency situation due to the Corona pandemic in the state, Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) is equipped with works to release new connections and to give additional load to the oxygen generating plants and Covid hospitals in the wake of rising covid cases and shortage of oxygen.
Over the last one month, MSEDCL released new connections to 10 major oxygen generating plants in the state within just 24 to 48 hours. Also, 35 Covid hospitals have also been given new electricity connections immediately.
Currently, due to the second wave of Covid-19, the state is experiencing a large need of oxygen for the treatment of covid patients. Hence, oxygen production has been expedited in the State. Also, demand for new connections and additional power load has also increased.
The chairman and managing director of MSEDCL Vijay Singhal as asked all the regional offices to be well prepared. As a result, the work which usually takes 8 to 10 days, is being completed in just 24 to 48 hours.
Total 14,000 KVA capacity of electricity is given to the ten oxygen generating plants. since last year, MSEDCL has been releasing new connections to the newly constructed Covid Hospitals in State. Till date, MSEDCL has released new connections to 35 Covid hospitals in just 24 to 48 hours.
