The Maharashtra government has made the RT-PCR test report mandatory for three more states for air travellers arriving at Dr.Babaasheb Ambedekar International Airport. These include West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Recently assembly elections were held in West Bengal.
Besides Gram Panchayat elections were held in Uttarakhand and across all events. In view of the above events, the chief secretary of Maharashtra has issued an order making the RT-PCR report mandatory for the passengers flying from these states. The orders have been issued as the matter is sensitive. At present direct flights are not being operated from Nagpur to Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh and Kolkata in West Bengal. If the passenger has not done the RT-PCR, they have to do it at the airport and all the passengers will be quarantined.
