Welcoming the newly appointed Collector Nagpur, a delegation of Vidarbha Taxpayers Association (VTA) led by its president Shrawankumar Malu met Vimala R. by handing over a flower bouquet.
Recently, on proposal of Dr. Nitin Raut – Guardian & Energy Minister, the Nagpur Collector Office had written a letter to Principal Secretary, Disaster Management, Relief and Rehabilitation Department, Government of Maharashtra bearing No. d{k&14@eg-lgk@Mh&2@dkfo&1083/2021 seeking approval for extending closing of businesses from 4 pm to 8 pm.
Appreciating this, Shrawankumar Malu – president VTA submitted gratitude to the Guardian Minister Dr. Nitin Raut and the Collector on behalf of the citizens for such a positive move. However, requested that restaurant & banquet timings may please be demanded till 11 pm; as to VTA’s knowledge, the hospitality sector is extremely hard-hit and needs such extra relaxations to overcome their huge losses.
Tejinder Singh Renu – secretary VTA said that Nagpur is fortunate to have a collector who has firsthand knowledge to fight Covid as she had been the Nodal Officer representing Maharashtra State in Covid Warriors, an initiative by the central government for integrated Government online training.
Collector Vimala R. said, although we have written for extension of timings, however the State Government is worried of the third wave expected to hit soon, hence taking all the precautions for the good of the citizens. So we await directions from the Mantralaya and accordingly the administration will issue orders for the region.
Also present in the VTA delegation were Hemant Trivedi – vice president, Pawan K. Chopra – Treasurer and joint secretaries Amarjeet Singh Chawla and Rajesh Kanoongo.
