P.M.Parlewar, Director, MSME-DI, Nagpur delivered power point presentation on the cluster development scheme of MSME Ministry, Govt. of India to the participants. During the presentation he elaborated the methodology of cluster scheme, process of applying, approval mechanism, funding pattern and formation of SPV within group of entrepreneurs for setting up of Common Facility Centre (CFC) for gold jewelry cluster at Nagpur. He also resolved all the queries raised by the entrepreneurs with regard to setting up of CFC in gold cluster, Nagpur.
  There is a huge potential of jewellery industry in Nagpur and in Vidarbha region. Around 3000 nos. of jewellery manufacturing units are located in this region. They are working in unorganised way in this sector. Mainly they are into the manufacturing of gold & silver ornaments, decorative articles, diamond studded jewelries, diamond cutting and finishing, gold castings and deals with highly precious metals. They are also involved in gold and silver ornaments trading activities.Â
In this context, with the objective of bringing all the jewelers on single common platform, Shri Parlewar,Director suggested the jewellery manufacturers to form a cluster and set up the Common facility centre in Nagpur for the benefit of small gold manufactures and help them to expand their business activities with the help of cluster development scheme.
 The CFC will involve high end machinery and sophisticated equipments and advanced facilities, which will be created with the grand in aid of Govt. of India. These facilities will include gold and precious metal and alloys melting and casting, gold and silver ornaments manufacturing machines, rolling machine, testing facilities, hallmarking facilities, chain making machines, skill training facilities, raw material bank etc. The formation of CFC will help them in getting adequate infrastructure for implementation of the Hallmarking scheme. There is requirement of more nos. of hallmarking centers in Nagpur to cope up with the demand.Â
Due to creation of these common facility centre, maximum number of jewelry manufacturing entrepreneurs will be benefitted and the quality of their product will get enhanced.
Rajesh Rokde, Secretary of Nagpur Sarafa Association and Director of All India Gem and Jewelry Domestic Council (GIC) along with large no. of gold and gem jewelers from Nagpur, Julesh Shah, Chartered Accountant and Consultant along with  other officers of MSME-DI, Nagpur were present during the meeting.
At last, Shri P.M.Parlewar, Director, MSME-DI, Nagpur appealed to all the jewelry manufacturers present to form the SPV and start the process of identification of land for CFC so that the CFC will be set up at the earliest.
