Balasaheb Thorat, Revenue Minister, said that the country would never forget sacrifices made by Rajiv Gandhi in the interest of nation, former Prime Minister.
He was addressing a gathering at a function organised by the workers of Nationalist Congress Party at the statue of Rajiv Gandhi, Ajni Chowk, here on Friday to mark 77th birth anniversary of Gandhi. Thorat further said that Gandhi had made every effort to make India as a modern country. On the occasion, he garlanded the statue of Gandhi and offered floral tributes.
While paying tributes, Dilip Pankule, State General Secretary, NCP, said that Gandhi was the source of inspiration for the youths.
Anees Ahmed, former minister, Dinanath Padole, former MLA, Tatyasaheb Mate, Janba Maske, Sanjay Shewale, Ashok Katle, Shrikant Shivankar, Ashok Raut, Sardar Ravindra Mulla also paid tributes saying that Gandhi was a great leader promoting modern technology.
Bhaiji Mohod, Machhindra Awale, Bablu Chauhan, Pramod Jondhle, Vasant Ghatate, Mangla Mahajan, Ashok Mahurkar, Rajesh Tembhurne, Moreshwar Jadhav and others were present.
Meanwhile, workers of Central Block Congress Committee held a programme in Devadia Bhavan, Chitnis Park to celebrate the birth anniversary of Gandhi.
